Stephane Dumas

Stephane Dumas is a physicist working for the Canadian government. But during his free time, he is doing a lot of work related to astronomy and SETI (completely unrelated to his day job). He is the president of the Quebec Center of the Royal astronomical society of Canada (RASC), a member of the society of amateur radio astronomer (SARA), a member of SETI Team, of the planetary society and of the Canadian astronomical society/societe Canadienne d'astronomie (CASCA). He is also the SETI League coordinator for east Canada.

His colleague (Yvan Dutil) and he are well known in the field of SETI for their project in Active SETI and the two messages broadcasted from Evpatoria radio-telescope. Stephane is involved in several activities of public outreach for astronomy and science (in schools and public).

He is also a great fan of science-fiction and a co-founder of the Cyberclub Pheonix. For many years, he was the editor of the Captain's Log and the FantasmagoriA.
